Who over 50 here doesn't remember his singin' in the group Procol Harum?  Adam? (a bunch of Top of the Pops?) Anyone else? (Carson AND Letterman just after the guys reunited in 1991?)

At his British home last Saturday (19); 76.

In my early days listening to Spotify I would look for bands who had a single I knew growing up and I would listen to a couple of their albums. I wasted my time listening to about 3 Procol Harum albums just to find out they never did anything else that was in the ballpark of Whiter Shade of Pale.

"...In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra" must not have been one of them...     B

Their other U.S. hit, "Conquistador," was from that album (it peaked at number 4 in 1972).  In the UK it only got to 22.

“Conquistador” with the Edmonton Symphony is easily one of the top five melds of rock band and orchestra ever, maybe even the top one, and this is coming from an unapologetic fan of the Electric Light Orchestra. It makes the turgid, studio version from their debut album sound like a heap of guano.
