Die Maus and the WBD apparently agreed to this today... and will announce details at their respective upfronts in the coming weeks...

I guess the streamers have entered the “Become Netflix or die” phase of the business.

The only detail that matters it seems is price, which I guess they are announcing next week. I see how it helps the streamers reduce churn to bundle, but I see no advantage at all to customers unless it is cheaper.

I suppose what we are going to start seeing more of is a mild price savings for a longer term commitment

WBD had its latest earnings call this morning... revenue fell 7% from last year... net loss nearly double analysts' projections... they need this...

Not mentioned by Investopedia, but in this THR piece, Zaslav mentioned that development has begun on new Lord of the Rings flicks, expected by 2026... that kicked the stock price up a bit... https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/new-lord-of-the-rings-movies-2026-peter-jackson-1235894513/ (link)

And, noted in Puck News:

“Warner Discovery stock…is down almost two-thirds in two years. And since 2021, when the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger was first announced, Zaz has been awarded nearly $350 million in compensation. Let that sink in.”
