Veteran of stage, screen and TV. I always remember him as the lead in the original film version of The Andromeda Strain.

He was James *Olson*, not Olsen.

Also remembered as Father, opposite Mary Steenburgen as Mother, in Milos Forman's "Ragtime" (1981).
