Are you saying that they only have 4 days to get the show together?
The nominations will be announced on July 28. The ceremony will be on Sep 20.

OK, I don't remember if I left out a word, or got the dates mixed. I was in and out of bed the last few days with a(nother) digestive issue. I'm going to lay off fluid milk (and things I have or make with it) for a week.

When we factor through the number of awards and nominees that night, it's easy to see why the academy decided to move the ceremony across the street to the far-more-tech-capable Staples Center... still, those nominees will have to prerecord their acceptance speeches, ostensibly subject to shortening by the crew...
