Diner, earlier today (3/02), to moi:
That wasn't him.

I'd have to find it, or ask Donz what became of it.

Here's the clip:

One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by David Letterman. In this segment, Dave gives a brief summary of the events that led to the General Electric takeover of his program's network, NBC, and then heads over to the G.E. building to deliver a basket of fruit and meet with the board of directors. Members of the security staff at the G.E. building give the talk-show host a cold reception and warn him repeatedly to turn the cameras off and go away. Back at his desk, Dave replays a moment from his encounter with the head of security, citing it as a demonstration of "the official G.E. corporate handshake."

Donz may be able to fill in a few more details, but that wasn't Welch in the clip. I remember Dave talking about Welch telling him to keep making fun of the GE execs, since it played so well.

it was a fellow named Mittenback, or Mittenbach, or any other spelling variation. I put a sort of history together here last night: https://youtu.be/JIQOMVdVheU
