In what was a sealed deal until the rightwing media company issued an initial public offering this week, last summer Newsmax paid Smartmatic $40M to settle an election defamation lawsuit--they are going to court against Dominion Voting Systems, which won a big settlement from Fox News last year this summer and did include in the prospectus that the case is an inherent risk to investors:


And oh yes--Smartmatic's case against Fox is probably going to trial this summer.

The Dominion case was settled for $67 million.

Good.  

There is something vile about a broadcaster who claims to produce "news" but pushes outright lies and deceives its viewers.

And yet my cable system's owners still think it and OAN deserve channel space next to Fox, CNN et al... at least my level of channels doesn't include it.    B
