'Chosen' Gets Waiver from SAG, Can Continue Production--Hallelujah!

The indie crowd-funded Christ bio series which is seen on the producers' own website and in frequent Fathom Events one-nighters in movie theaters (and an influence on the distribution of the Disney castoff turned left-field hit "Sound of Freedom"--even if some claim that many of the recipients of the "pay it forward" tickets plugged in the credits, complete with a QR code on the screen, don't show up for the technically "sold out" screenings) will be able to finish their fourth season with SAG members appearing (including the guy who pays Jesus):

Lionsgate is distributing the first three seasons (they haven't signed for the fourth season yet) and the first season started airing on The CW over the weekend.

The Chosen really ought to be retitled: How to redress one guy’s Texas backyard shed 56 different ways

I showed the first two seasons to my middle school students as part of their religion curriculum this year. Each episode contains some of the worst writing and acting ever shown on television right alongside some surprisingly unique and creative stuff. It shouldn’t win any awards, but I’d rather watch it than anything containing the words Kardashian or Housewives.
