Netflix Out of DVD Rentals

The last red envelopes will go out on the week of Sept. 29 as Netflix shuts down DVD.com, the last remnant of their original business of DVD rentals, while many complain that streaming is taking away content on physical media--Redbox is the last major national distributor of DVDs and they are getting into PPV streaming:

It's also going to cause problems for people who can't stream because they live in areas without good internet access.

The lack of DVD rentals would be the least of their concerns

Well, I continued to use the discs until 2 or 3 years ago for that very reason.
