Dan Schneider and Nickelodeon question...

So I was watching an episode of “Head of the Class” and my wife’s two kids (both in their 20s) recognized Dan Schneider as the man behind many of the Nick shows like iCarly or Zoey 101. They brought up what to them seemed like common knowledge, specifically that Schneider has a foot fetish, and it is reflected in perverted ways in the kids/teen shows he creates. Does anybody else (guessing those of you with kids) know of this? Is it accurate?

I shouldn't be able to answer the question, and I can't answer the question, despite the fact that he's a graduate of my high school.

It seemed an odd factoid for them to know, and they spoke of it as if it was just generally known by regular viewers of those sorts of shows

I remembered that there was something shady about him, but couldn't remember what.  I quick search found the details Kevin related.

He and Nickelodeon split in 2018, and while this Dateline piece -


starts with language suggesting the relationship was ended by mutual agreement, it goes on to note issues with Schneider's behavior, including the fixation on young actresses feet.  As this was after 2017, this might not have been as mutual as it seemed at the time.

And while a search of the TVorNotTV archives doesn't come up with anything about this when it happened, Greg made a post in a May thread on a "Head of the Class" reboot that suggested this was common, if subconscious, knowledge.

Yeah this has been an open secret in the industry for years. And I'm not even gonna get into the alleged actual reason that Britney's sister got fired from Zoey 101 when she got pregnant (Google It).

As the link mentions, Jeanette McCurdy's memoir "I'm Glad My Mom Died," which came out earlier this month, was very detailed about her experiences working on "iCarly" and "Sam and Cat," although she referred to Schneider in the book as "The Creator," presumably to avoid lawsuits.  However, anyone with knowledge of the situations would know who it was in an instant.
