Directed many an episode of "American Idol" through the early 21st century, those "Kidsongs" videos at Warner Records, a laundry list of awards shows (Emmys, MTV, ESPYs), even the video for the original "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Gowers directed a lot of shows I worked on back in the day. I thought he was going to have a nervous breakdown having to deal with Whitney Houston on the Arista show. But he was great at live (or live-to-tape) events, and not a lot of directors can do that.
