A couple years back I was able to take my middle school video production class on a tour of the facility. At the time, it was very active. After Midnight, Big Brother, Dexter, and several sitcoms were all in production there. Looked like they were investing in renovations, too. But I guess it wasn’t enough. From Gilligan’s lagoon to Seinfeld’s New York street, nothing last forever.

Sad.

I spent so much time there in the 1990s.  Wonderful memories.

My most memorable experience was waiting hours in the rain for Roseanne.  I left LA the next day, and my clothes were still soaked.  And, then on another occasion, one of only two times I rented a car in LA (bus strike), I got to drive on the lot, because out of the blue, a former classmate called me and invited me to contact his sister-in-law who worked for Carsey Werner, and I got to be really back-stage at That 70s Show.  I met Will Forte that evening, and I think he was a little miffed that I didn't know who he was; I think it was his first year on SNL.  I also got to see Larry Sanders, Cybill, Grace Under Fire, and Hearts Afire, but was never able to get into Seinfeld.

I also met a years-long friend who sadly is no longer with us -- and Matt Drudge sold me a t-shirt.

I went to my only sitcom taping there in early 2000s.    Still Standing, with Mark Addy and Jamie Gertz.

Wonder what will happen to Big Brother house, if the show runs in 2026.    On a related note, Big Brother Australia returned their house to Dreamworld, an amusement park near Brisbane.

I was wondering the same thing about the BB house. Presumably CBS saw this as a possibility (eventuality) and have already made plans to relocate to the Paramount backlot? I don't think there were any plans to counter program the Winter Olympics with another Celebrity BB season, so they'd certainly have the time, and from a production design standpoint, the layout of the 'house' could absolutely use a refresh...

I don't see anything in the article that indicates that the studio is soon going to be shut down and demolished to build condos (or whatever), only that the current owner is defaulting and that the property will soon be controlled by a different owner.

Among other things, KCBS-TV is still on the property, and as far as I know, there's no facility on the Paramount lot that's currently suitable to run a TV station out of.

CBS' TV stations in LA (KCBS and KCAL) are staying at Radford, along with "Entertainment Tonight," so it could be possible the "BB" house could stay.

And for the record, Netflix's unfortunate reboot of "Star Search" (from the people behind the unfortunate reboot of "Hollywood Squares" on CBS) originated live worldwide this week from Radford--TV City next week? (For the record, the original with Ed originated at what was then the Aquarius Theatre, which I believe is still today Nickelodeon's West Coast production facility.)

Yes, Star Search launched live worldwide this week. But I'm not sure that it's super-attractively timed for anywhere not in the Americas :-)

Well, for what it's worth, host Anthony Anderson claimed last night that on Tuesday night they received votes from 160 countries (through viewers' remotes (no glitches on my remote and very easy to operate, the best thing about this show) and he mentioned the UK in particular. Yeah, insomniacs.
