So, I was convinced long ago that Cosby was a rapist son of a bitch, and I do think he deserves to die in prison.

But I have to say the PA Appellate Court Opinion is convincing. In the original case the DA specifically told Cosby PA would not file criminal charges. This cleared the way for the victim to file a civil suit, and for Cosby to be compelled to answer questions without invoking the 5th Amendment. More recent DA decided to file criminal charges (which, the original probably should have done) and used Cosby’s communication in the Civil case to convict him.

I would be unhappy if these tactics were allowed against most defendants, and so feel obligated to support this decision re Cosby.

As I understand it, the “tactics” were used when the prosecution put up additional victims  to testify about additional assaults. The defense objected, claiming (lying) there was no supporting evidence, at which point the prosecution had no choice but to call them on their lie by presenting Cosby’s own (damning) words. It’s possible the prosecution orchestrated the chain of events, but it was the defense who forced them to counter their lies with evidence of the truth in Cosby’s own words. In short, Cosby’s lawyers knowingly lied on his behalf, which ought to throw any prior legal agreements out the window.

If only.

And because the original (Castor) didn't, that, mis amigos, is double jeopardy.   B

Only way I’d put an interview of him on TV is if one of his victims conducts the interview

US Supremes asked to reinstate verdict, with prosecutors saying the state's highest panel had no right to interpret then-prosecutor Bruce Castor's press release as validating his alleged "promise" that Cos' statements in civil trials would not later be used against him in criminal proceedings...
