Claiming that UncaWalt's place is dishonoring his legacy by pandering to Duh Gays and Duh Minorities, the conservative Daily Wire's co-founder Jeremy Boreing (snicker, snicker) has announced a new family programming streamer called Bentkey, named after the Wire's parent company and a necklace that Boreing wears (oh, he's so manly)--the streamer launches with four original series (including "Chip Chilla," which looks a helluva lot like "Bluey" except they're Amurricans and the kids are home-schooled) and some acquired series--in addition, they are making a theatrical film called "Bentkey's Snow White and the Evil Queen," starring Wire YouTube host Brett Cooper, with an unimpressive acting resume but she's 22 and she's not a Latina like Disney's "Snow White" live-action star Rachel Zegler and she's not trying to make a political statement about the character like Zegler (the trailer in the below link seems to indicate that her singing voice is Auto-Tuned)--the film will come out, so to speak, later in 2024 (the Disney "Snow White" comes out Mar. 22):

An Axios article about the streamer, so you can really see how much the "Chip Chilla" characters look like the Aussie blue heelers of "Bluey":

Boreing is also producing for the Wire a series based on "The Pendragon Cycle," a series of books about the King Arthur legends starring--what a surprise!--Cooper that will appear on the Wire's website in 2024.

A little addition:  The voice of "Chip Chilla"'s father is--Rob Schneider.  His mother's voice is Laura Osnes, the musical theater actress who won the "Grease" reality comp "You're the One That I Want" and was on her way to a big career on Broadway until she refused to take a COVID vaccination for a concert performance during the pandemic and it came out that she is a QAnon geek--she now lives in Nashville and has pretty much retreated to Christian music and Hallmark Channel movies.

Working at a Christian school, I am constantly told by well intentioned people about new media ventures that are supposedly Christian themed or family friendly. The problem is they are generally poorly written, poorly produced, and poorly acted. “Angel” studios is trying to ride the wave of success they had with “The Chosen,” but so far their follow up efforts have been sophomoric at best.

The irony is that TV and movies have had powerful Christian stories written by Jewish and even atheist writers… history is full of “very special” Christmas episodes of sitcoms written by people with last names ending in -berg or -stein. A good story is a good story, regardless of the writer. And a writer focused on something other than telling a good story (i.e. telling a family friendly story) is doomed to stink.

The Deadwood TV series is among the most moral and Christian stories ever told, but I suspect if David Milch ever heard me say that, he’d punch me in the face. Milch sets out to tell stories… he cares little for how I might interpret them or what my personal takeaway might be. By contrast, “Left Behind” (all versions of it) is an amoral and unchristian mish-mash because the writer couldn’t write his way out of a paper bag; the fact he’s a Christian doesn’t factor into it. Left Behind has gaping plot holes, horribly stiff and unconvincing dialogue, and whole sections of all-consuming nothingness. I’m a God-fearing man, and I’ll take a well crafted tale from a nonbeliever over garbage from a devout theist any day.

Ben Shapiro has no discernible skills. His life experience is less evolved than an octopus in a jar in an underground bunker. He cannot articulate a basic persuasive argument; I am skeptical that he can tell time. He has no business being the backbone (creatively or financially) of any media venture. Which probably means he will earn millions of dollars doing it while people with genuine talent struggle to scrape together the money to buy a cup o’ soup.

Thanks for posting about Laura Osnes.  I had no idea.

I've seen her perform a couple of times in DC, including being part of a tribute to Barbra Streisand (hosted by Fran Drescher!).

Coincidentally, I'm off to the same venue tonight (GWU's Lisner Auditorium) -- Rachel Maddow's book tour!
