Apparently In the world of music licensing, artists AND writers get paid for plays on Spotify, but comics do not receive the additional writing payments. Spotify pulled a lot of comics in an attempt to lure them to a negotiating table. Lewis Black has asked for all of his work to be pulled from Spotify in protest.
