Bayliss and Kellerman cohost

They are trying to mimic the show’s jump cut editing in audio form… it needs work, but the content has potential

If you are at all a fan of Homicide: Life on the Street, this week’s episode of the podcast features a must-hear conversation with David Simon.

The podcast itself still lacks a host to drive it along, but Simon’s stories more than make up for that. If nothing else, he revealed that a very well known person in the television world plagiarized his book just before H: LOTS came out. I had not heard that story before.

I confess to being in love with Simon’s writing. I don’t think I could choose between he or David Milch.

Hang on. There are *two* current Homicide podcasts?

When I saw this thread before, I thought it was a different podcast that also recently started.

So in fact we have:

"Homicide: Life on Repeat" which is an episode by episode rewatch, with Kyle Secor and Reed Diamond, and

"Homicide: Life on the Set" which is a series of interviews with the stars and creatives surrounding the series.

Secor and Diamond had both appeared on the latter prior to starting their own.

David Simon was also on an episode of the latter back in the summer.

Homicide has yet to make it to a British streaming service, but I still have my DVD boxset.

I have a lot of podcasts to catch up with.

The Secor/Diamond podcast coincides with the show streaming on Peacock. But, as everyone on the podcast has noted, they “cleaned up” the gritty video and replaced most of the licensed music, resulting in a very different looking and sounding show.
