YouTube TV is now pushing NFL-ST (We get an onscreen push when we sign on, and I got an email today). The price is $349 (apparently it was $300 last year on DirectTV). Until June there is a $100 discount, so $249.
One of my big questions had to do with RedZone. I now realize that the RedZone previously packaged with NFL-ST was a DirectTV product, not an NFL product. The RedZone I have been watching since I left DirectTV is produced by the NFL. They were different in nature (The NFL one is better), and now I know they will not both be available. However, they are charging an additional $40 for RedZone (I’m sure they see this as a discount - currently RedZone is part of a package that costs $11/month, which is $44 for the season).
What I still can’t figure out is if I would use RedZone if I had access to (almost) every game; or conversely I am not sure if I would actually make much use of all those NFL-ST game feeds if I had RedZone. I suspect I will get the discounted NFL-ST package, sans RedZone at first. If I miss RedZone, I will add it back at $11/month starting in October, and have saved $7. If I find I mostly watch RZ anyway, then I will not renew NFL-ST the following year for $350.
They do not currently have single team or single game options, but may add this in season or next season. Those options plus RZ would probably be sufficient for me (I’m not really jonesing for those Falcon-Panther games).
