Star Trek’s Marina Sirtis pledged to delete her account if Musk completed his purchase of Twitter. She has done so, the first of my followers to do so (to my knowledge).

I’m in sort of a wait-and-see mode. Biz and Jack were both amoral sleaze, and I stayed on Twitter when they called the shots. I’ve spent years blocking multiple users, so I suspect my experience on Twitter differs from the norm. Often I cannot even view specific Tweets that make a topic trending. I follow people I want to follow, view most recent Tweets instead of the algorithm. I am concerned that I received a notification on my phone from Twitter; it was a Tweet from Elon Musk saying nothing has changed. Why was I concerned: I blocked Musk’s account years ago.

Meanwhile, the WaPo reports racist Tweets exploded as Musk took over Twitter.


I won’t leave just on principle, but if the tide of toxic, hateful mud and Trumpism start leaking into my feed, which I have pretty well sealed off from that, I will exit.

Jack is aiming to start a competitor. A fellow tweeter from Florida alerted me to it.
I've not seen Musk try to surmount my block of him.

I am curious about contract clauses (now standard) which stipulate celebrities must “live tweet” or otherwise promote on social media.
