Apparently she said things she’s said a million times before, but this time Disney took notice

Not clear to me that Kevin;s response is accurate. She has been shilling conservative talking points for years, and has her own issues with Obama’s identity choices that also go back a long way. If she is being suspended for these kinds of comments I would be critical of ESPN, as I have been critical of them spanking other Nichols for expressing liberal positions.

But she also recently made comments to the effect that people should not be vaccinated and take other COVID precautions. To my knowledge she has not made those kinds of comments before, and discouraging COVID safety is the fist whose first amendment** rights end at the nose of public health.

**Yes, I know this is not literally a 1st amendment issue, but the phrase can be used figuratively to mean free speech.

Given the thread title I think it's worth noting that the suspension referred in the title was last year, though it is possible ESPN might decide to do something stupid and suspend her now.  The lawsuit is today.

Apparently the suit alleges that certain individuals at the network were allowed the kind of expression she was denied.  One of those named in the suit as allegedly enjoying such expression, Dan LeBatard, is no longer at the network in part over disputes over his attempts to do this.
