I only saw the YouTube monologue, not the show. He may address the Chauvin verdict elsewhere.

Kimmel mentioned it. Coincidentally, it appears Mike Lindell, the MyPillow guy, is going to be a guest on Kimmel.

The verdict came down late enough (5 pm Eastern?) that the YouTube material might have been shot already.  I'm on the West Coast, so I haven't seen the show yet.  A quick Google search suggest he says something, so maybe pre or post opening credits.  If they cut whatever bit Brian Stack had put together, all the better.

As for Kimmel, he's been watching Lindell's latest nonsense and apparently they have exchanged words over the last week or so.

The cold open was Colbert explaining that the verdict was just announced, so they didn't have material.

Meyers said they were taping before the verdict was announced, so the audience would have to settle for 420 jokes.

At the beginning of the second segment, Colbert asked Jon Batiste for his thoughts on the verdict. As they spoke, they mentioned that Biden and Harris were speaking at the same time, meaning that segment was taped around 7:15 PM.

Fallon did a 30-second cold open that addressed the verdict and ended with "in the meantime, we're gonna put on a show and try to entertain you for an hour. Thank you for watching."

That was followed by a nearly 7 minute interview with Joy Reid breaking down the verdict.

Yesterday my 22 year old son came out of his office/bedroom towards my home-office to give me the heads-up that the verdict was coming around 5pm EDT.   So 3 of us gathered around the TV and waited.    The main thing that kept running through my head was that if the verdict is not-guilty, there will be riots and outrage like the LA riots after the Rodney King verdict.    Of course, he was not alive at that time, but I recalled to him that I watched CNN all night that night.

I should probably find a documentary link to give to him to watch.

MTV produced a documentary for (I think) the tenth anniversary of the riots which I thought did a good job of speaking about the cultural impact of that moment. More recently I watched a doc (not sure who produced it) that focused on LAPD’s decision to pull out of the areas (either to relieve the tension or to let the city burn)... I’ll have to try and track it down again

Lindell will be on Wednesday and Lindell is excited about it.

For the record, the credits this week list a cold open producer and cold open writer--and Stack's name isn't on either of them.

Would it be too much to hope that Stack has left? He's terrible enough to be on SNL.

I assume you don't follow him on Twitter then either?

Mike Lindell had a decent appearance. Nothing earth shaking, but kind of fun.

To fully appreciate it, watch Jimmy's monologue first.
