The buyers (licensors?) are nearby-Kentucky-based Grant County Broadcasting and radio veteran Randy Michaels, dba Radioactive LLC... a three-station cluster, one of which officially uses the iconic call sign, signed on today... and 80-year-old Gary Sandy provided some imaging:

I've been rewatching the original WKRP. So many good episodes.

And, related to the other thread about well-done reboots, the "All New WKRP" featuring many of the original cast and many of the same writers and producers was decent.

To clarify, the 'KRP calls are a cobranding with "The Oasis," the trimulcast's former brand, and the FCC application for any call-sign changes is being filed this week... the real call sign remains on the low-power FM in Raleigh, NC (a social-media friend of mine, whom recently graduated from nursing school, is headed to the Triangle to work for the Duke Health system)
