Considering the soft-ball state of TV journalism, especially in regards to the current administration, it is ponderous that CBS News is considered by some to be better than the others. Yet here we are.

I'm going to go ahead and say it, whether you find his monologues funny or not--is Colbert or Stewart next? I'm afraid that Kristi Noem's ICE goons are going to enter the studio of one or all of the late-night shows, arrest the host/hosts while the tape's rolling and send him/them to that El Salvador prison--or am I just paranoid?

Nope, you ain't... sh!tty tactics like those are definitely not beneath le gros orange and his Cabinet. As to the folks you mention, that'll happen between 4.30 and 6 east, during local news blocks on many a CBS affil...     B

So far it has been CBS executives wielding the axe, attempting to appease the unappeasable. The administration hasn’t had to do a thing.

To paraphrase the fictional news series written by Aaron Sorkin, ratings can shield a show (or a host) from direct attacks. As long as Colbert or even Stewart have the numbers, CBS won’t want to risk them switching to another network if they were fired.

Frankly, not enough people care about network news to raise a stink about it.

Without naming them, I was also including Kimmel and Meyers. If the deed would be done for Kimmel, it would be between 7:30-9 p.m. ET. I'm guessing that Fallon still avoids politics in his monologues.

I wouldn't worry about Stewart, I'm sure his buddy Kennedy Jr. will give him some honorary position at HHS to find out where COVID came from.

Is this the same Kennedy Jr. that Stewart and Jordan Klepper mocked last week for his swimming expedition in polluted waters?

It’s the same Kennedy that agrees with Stewart’s conspiracy theory that a research facility devoted to studying COVID caused COVID.

Not to mention, Stewart praised his book that vaccines caused autism back in the Mid-Oughts but good luck finding that clip after Paramount scrubbed the TDS archive recently.
