She seemed to me to be a truly abhorrent individual, but she was great on Cheers and she played a sexy Vulcan.

Didn't take long for Peacock to put "Cheers" on their home screen with an "in memoriam" flag, although not saying what season you have to go to isyou want to see Ms. Alley's first season on the show.

I did a complete re-watch of Cheers/Frazier earlier this year. I always thought of it in terms of before and after Diane, but I realized there are three parts to Cheers: 1) Sam and Diane (the excellent part, especially first two seasons); 2) Sam and Rebecca (the horrible, almost unwatchable part) 3) Sam and the Gang (the average to good part, with Rebecca just one of the colorful characters at the bar).
So I would modify your Obit to say she was “aight in Cheers.”
She was one sexy Vulcan though.
I don’t understand all the stuffTwitter about her dying from cancer proving Scientology is bullshit:
1. Scientology is so obviously bullshit there really is no need to use someone’s death to dunk on it. If somebody dies in a grotesque accident on a day their horoscope predicts good things I don’t see the need to use that to demonstrate that Astrology is bullshit.
2. Why did I learn that Ms. Alley had died by clicking on a Twitter Trending topic that just said “Shelly Long”?

Letterman put out her appearance on Late Night for the Cheers finale and she seemed warm and funny. Sad to see her become a harpy.
