PBS suspends distribution of Smiley show for misconduct
LOS ANGELES (AP) - PBS says it has indefinitely suspended distribution of Tavis Smiley's talk show after an independent investigation uncovered "multiple, credible allegations" of misconduct by its host.
The broadcaster said in a statement Wednesday that it hired a law firm to investigate "troubling allegations" about Smiley and that its findings prompted the indefinite suspension.
A representative for PBS declined to specify the nature of the allegations against Smiley, but said the investigation included interviews with him and "witnesses."
Smiley's nightly program has aired on PBS since 2004. His representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Earlier last week he sued PBS for damages. He talked with Don Lemon (link) about it, believing some 'folk' have 'axes to grind.'

PBS says new witnesses attest Tavis Smiley sex misconduct

PBS says it has found many new witnesses to the sexual misconduct of talk-show host Tavis Smiley, who was suspended in December and later fired.
The network filed papers in Washington, D.C., Superior Court in response to a breach-of-contract lawsuit Smiley filed last month.
PBS says an independent investigation found more witnesses to corroborate initial accounts that Smiley had a pattern of sexual relationships with subordinates, subjected subordinates to unwanted sexual advances - including requests for specific sex acts - and made inappropriate lewd jokes.
PBS says many of the witnesses are women of color, in response to allegations from Smiley, who is black, of racial bias.
Smiley's attorneys said Friday that the filing represents more "lies, half-truths and smears from PBS" that they look forward to exposing in court.

PBS might have had an incentive to settle and keep all this from becoming public. Now if it goes to trial they won't have to pay Smiley anything.

Jury finds for the Peeb... he'll be out at least $1.5mil, and maybe more...
