And we all know who last asked a major organization to tell him what employees do and what happened:

We can only imagine Cronkite's response.

SAG, who represents them, quickly informed staff they are not to respond until a specific reason is given for the information.

Like it matters. There are no journalists at CBS anymore.

If Cronkite showed up at CBS News today he wouldn’t recognize anything there except Lesley Stahl. I think it’s time to let Walter go.

My parents met when they were both active leaders in the Southern California chapter the Congress of Racial Equality. CORE was a central force in the civil rights movement, known for its nonviolent direct action campaigns and leadership by figures like James Farmer and Bayard Rustin, And my sister and I grew up walking picket lines and going to organizational meetings and community education event events . Decades later, core was taken off by the son of Roy Innis and transformed into a front for pro Republican, and libertarian groups. It traded on the name and legacy of the original core for sometime, and for a while, people who were not paying close attention still sent in money and generally thought positively of core, but eventually it became clear that it had nothing to do with the original organization, and in fact in many ways was dedicated to the opposite of its founding vision.

CBS = CORE

Last Week Tonight did a fair assessment of “The Free Press” that spells out certain doom for CBS
