Best known for playing Omar in “The Wire” but he’s been in a ton of things

Very sad news. Few actors have been able to transmit so much dynamism and charisma through the television screen.

From David Simon‘s Twitter:

Too gutted right now to say all that ought to be said. Michael was a fine man and a rare talent and on our journey together he always deserved the best words. And today those words won't come.

Marc Maron again shared his interview with Williams and it's worth hearing.

I wonder if he was using then and lied about it or if he started using again recently. He seemed upbeat and positive in the interview. Maybe being a talented actor means being able to be a good liar.

In a sense, his life is not worth more than a homeless person who Odd and only the cops and coroner hear about it. Williams was talented and never seemed to give half-hearted performances. Such a loss.

It helped a bit. Macci sentenced to 30 months, about 18 of which he's already served.
