"Tires," the sitcom set in a tire store starring fired-from-"SNL" for alleged racist statements in podcasts Shane Gillis (who was guest host on said show earlier this year) as a rebellious employee, dropped today on the service, but this week before the drop Netflix renewed it for a second season in 2025:

Having a standup special that played well last year on Netflix helped for Gillis (he'll do another one next year), and I guess Ted Sarantos wants to keep waving the "free speech" flag he waved for Dave Chappelle for other comics with dicy material.

They cancelled GLOW for this?

No, they canceled GLOW because it was pandemic-disrupted, expensive to make, and the actors (likely) started booking other roles, making shooting impossible.
(FWIW, I agree with you - a college friend of mine was a regular on GLOW - but the reality is what it is...)

I thought it was a blessing that they canceled GLOW. The last season really felt like they ran out of ideas.

Moving the action to Vegas definitely hurt the overall story arc.

By the end of the season a lot of characters were spinning off to other things and in a fourth season there would have been three or four major plot lines, only one related to wrestling, or everybody in the non-wrestling plot lines would have to fail and somehow fall back into wrestling.

The people behind GLOW also did Orange is the New Black and it ran out of gas too.
