This is an interesting issue, I would like to hear more about what they were thinking. COVID-19 is in the US, has been for a month and a half. It’s not clear that TAR contestants are more at risk of infection abroad than here, unless they were planning on going to particularly high risk countries (Chins, S. Korea, Italy?). Or is it more that all the time in airplanes increases risk? Or perhaps the consequences if a racer or two developed even mild sx for the whole show were too complex to solve.

I think the issue is more about potential logistics problems than medical threats to the contestants. Countries are revising their regulations about who can enter and leave almost daily. If a challenge is in Italy, all the infrastructure is set up for it, and at the last second the government decides to close entry until further notice, the production is screwed. Likewise if the contestants could get into Italy and complete the challenge, and then fly to another country where they are put into 14 day quarantine, the production is screwed. It's easier to take the hit and cancel the season rather try to anticipate critical problems that would not be happening in other circumstances.

It seems slightly odd to me that it's being delayed until November. I know the summer release schedule is probably jammed, but everything I've read suggests that the virus is likely to abate a little during the summer, only to return during the northern hemisphere's winter. So won't we be in a similar situation in seven months' time?

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Netflix is canceling its South by Southwest screenings and events amid concerns about the outbreak of the new coronavirus.

A company spokesperson says Wednesday that the streamer is pulling out of the annual Austin-based festival, which kicks off next week.

The company had planned to screen the feature film “Uncorked" and four docuseries. In addition to the screenings, Netflix is also canceling a panel with Rashida Jones and Kenya Barris about the series #blackexcellence.

And yet the Letterkenny Live tour is still proceeding around the USA currently. The cast is on a tour bus .

Follow Michelle mylette on Instagram for updates :). I know Kevin does.

I also follow Squirrely Dan. His stand up segment about CapN Crunch is one of the funniest I’ve seen in a while
