"Severance" goes 8 for 27, not quite a respectable figure in baseball; another AppleTV+ effort, "The Studio," between this and the creative-arts ceremonies, took home 13 awards, most of any show; and Noah Wyle finally gets his first statuette since "E.R." as one of four won by "The Pitt"; also, Jean Smart wins as best comedy actress, "The Mother" takes best limited series/TV movie actress, and both Colbert and Oliver somehow win...

I did laugh when I saw a NY Times live blog piece describe The Pitt as "low budget" - https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/arts/television/heres-the-latest.html?smid=url-share

I mean, it cost $6m an episode according to a piece a few days ago in the NY Times that compared it with Severance. So, yes, it has a "lower" budget than the Apple show, but "low budget"???

I can assure the Times writer that there's plenty of drama still being made at less than that!

Incidentally, The Pitt has still not made it to UK shores. I think Warners must be holding it back for the upcoming launch in the UK of HBO Max next year - assuming that Paramount doesn't complete its purchase of WBD before then and rename the service HBO Paramount+ or something.

We have to say that "Adolescence" from your country had a damn good night, even if they didn't get the best mini-series nod. And that whole we'll-give-to-charity-if-if-the-speeches-run-short didn't go well. Nate Bergatze's final total was minus $60,000, meaning that he won't be back for Final Jeopardy! (but the Academy is giving $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs and ParamountSkydance is giving $250,000). Whoever's doing the Emmys next year, get a better host (although if it's Fox, it'll probably be either  NIck "Chronic Procreator" Cannon, Joel "I Single Handedly Ruined 'The 1% Club'" McHale or Dr. Ken "No Nickname Necessary").

Correction:  "Adolescence" won mini-series.
