Some could say that the target audience for the former aren't interested in the latter, but the MTV Video Music Awards, the last remnant of 80s MTV, have been moved one night over to Sept. 11 to get out of the way of the presidential debate, although it may also be a way for CBS to join the roadblock of Paramount cable channels carrying the event (and, of course, Paramount+ and maybe Pluto TV)--the VMAs have been on The CW in recent years, but Paramount and Warners are not controlling owners of that network anymore:
