I try to not speak ill of the dead, but f*ck Rush and f*ck his cult of tiny-brained dittoheads.

I'd fire someone for that URL.

And as the man who made talk radio conservative and national dies, it is ailing due to the audience aging and younger rightwing audiences choosing podcasts and YouTube over terrestrial radio.  Is Limbaugh's death also the nail in the coffin for AM radio and conservative talk radio?

The NPR Facebook post announcing Limbaugh's death has him giving the thumbs up. I wonder if that is a coincidence, especially from NPR.

I Have no comment about his life or death. I can’t imagine any possible literal meaning of the word bad that would not apply to his TV show.

If someone is able to unearth the installment of Fox’s Late Show hosted by Dr Laura (after Joan Rivers was fired), Limbaugh appeared as a guest, and I have a distinct memory (although it has been 35 years, so it could be false) of Limbaugh telling Dr Laura that his conservative radio persona was an act to con listeners. I can’t find video of it on the YouTubes or the Googles. I’m probably misremembering it, but I can picture it vividly in my mind’s eye.

Both Limbaugh and Beck started as wacky radio DJs, and the few dinosaurs still around from that era will note the proximity of that profession to con artist.  At a minimum, these other DJs would imply, these guys were exaggerating stuff if not fabricating some things.

My brother's 'rebellious' phase contained in part a fascination with Rush,  I found his TV program easier to swallow and lacking a lot of the hyperbole and nonsense of his radio program.  If we wanted that, I think Morton Downey, Jr.'s TV show was on the air around the same time.
