A friend of mine sent a slightly cryptic message this morning:

Him: "Do you watch To Tell The Truth?"
Me: "No. Never my cup of tea."
Him: "Go find last night's episode. It's worth it."
Me: "Why? What happened?"
Him: "Can't tell you. Just watch it."
Me: "Okay. Can you give me a hint?"
Him: "Nope. Just trust me."
Me: "I'm gonna be cranky if I give up 45 minutes and this doesn't live up to your hype."
Him: "You will not be cranky."

I finally watched it tonight. I am stunned to report he was right: I was not cranky.

This version of “To Tell the Truth” is perfectly adequate, but I still find some things about it annoying, most notably…

Anthony: “Will the real so-and-so please stand up… RIGHT AFTER THIS BREAK!”

Celebrities: “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!” (stamping feet, hitting each other with their clipboards, destroying pieces of the set)

(Yes, I did watch Thursday’s. I was not cranky, either.)

Agreed: it's one of the reasons I do not normally watch and effectively warned my friend about the possibility of crankiness.

Joe's message sufficiently piqued my interest.  I too, was not cranky, for reasons that would spoil it if I explained them.

That said, I think the only reason this is a full hour show is to fill holes in the summer schedule.  It doesn't need to be as long as it is.  Heck, switch out the panel at the half hour mark and run 2 episodes back-to-back, it'd be more entertaining.

For those interested, if you want info that is not a direct spoiler but risks you self-spoiling (if that makes sense) here's a link to additional info: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hb_aMQNptLb_KmMH-J3GdndmqRbAZNOLpxx1MFFoFSc/edit?usp=drivesdk

There's also a full spoiler link at that link as well (i.e., you'll have to click a link at that link for the full spoiler).
