One of the few times I will agree with DJT. Perhaps there is a context in which a beheading is funny, but that can never be in relation to a sitting, or even living, US President.

If she had been dressed as Putin, maybe there could've been a glimmer of humor.
She was wrong. She apologized. As I tweeted to Griffin, when you sink to the level of your opposition, you become indistinguishable from them. While I long ago stopped being a fan of hers (when she became the second coming of Joan Rivers), she is capable of better.
It did remind me of a minor sub plot in an episode of Studio 60 where a sketch about a turkey that won't die becomes freakish and unfunny because of the realistic amount of blood coming out of the turkey.

Eventually people are going to learn Trump says and does things specifically to provoke a reaction, and when public figures react, it just feeds his ego. I confess to responding to his garbage in recent months, but I know I’m a better person when I don’t.

I followed Fake Press Secretary Bot early in the administration to at least know when he tweeted so I could ostensibly keep up, but had to abandon that because it just became too much too soon.
I think Kevin is giving too much credit to him trying to provoke a reaction. I do think the flying monkeys sit on the perch, waiting to jump on anything, but that's not because he gives them a heads up. One of the interesting reads for me in the last few days was that late last week, the CEO of the Republican Natioanl Convention was having serious, meaningful conversations with the government of North Carolina on how they could handle things for August when Trump made his declaration (via Twitter) that he wanted this unattainable guarantee that there would be no restrictions, which threw everything up in the air.

Here's something that has nothing to do with Kathy Griffin and takes this thread way off topic but it relates to Joe's comment. Last week I was on a Zoom conference about the upcoming PA primary with the PA Secretary of State among others. She said that the state secretaries of state have their own association and are in constant discussions about how to hold elections in these circumstances. She said that all states, both Democratic led and Republican led, want an expansion of mail in voting in their states. At the state level the discussions are about how much it will cost and how to change the election department infrastructure, not whether it should happen.
