I would quibble a bit though with your setup here. I would not describe the sports situation the last two days as “shaky”; “inspirational” has been more like it. Also, not sure the NHL deserves to be in that same sentence as the NBA. The basketball players (women and men) have been providing real leadership on social justice issues, while the hockey league had to be shamed into cancelling events a day late.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I think you are right that even though Chadwick was killed by cancer and not a police bullet, coming at the end of an already unsettling week it felt of a piece with what happened in Wisconsin, emotionally if not logically.
