Well, it could be worse. I saw today that Will Ferrell and She Who Will Not Be Named are doing an online soap opera.

The hilarity must be as infectious -- and deadly -- as the Coronavirus.

Well, they obviously distanced themselves from humor this week. Not only was this easily the worst show of an awful season, it may have been the worst SNL in the history of the show (Hanks, the Sky Sports sketch, and the tribute to the composer excepted)--maybe in the history of the medium.

I saw the only episode of "Turn-On" in 1969, and compared to this farrago, it was Oscar Wilde, Neil Simon, and Mel Brooks combined.

I thought the dating show sketch was amusing, although they were leaning on a familiar SNL trope.  Also, the "TMNT" parody got a few laughs from me, mainly because I lived through the initial TMNT mania, and because I am now of a certain age.

They did a really good job of making the "TMNT" cartoon look like it was an '80s analog UHF over-the-air broadcast. I wish it had individual credits the way the "Saturday TV Funhouse" cartoons used to. (If it was mentioned in the "SNL" closing credits, I missed it.)

Trivia question that I don’t know the answer to:

Was this the first SNL recorded entirely outside of 8H since they moved to Brooklyn for election coverage in the late 70s ?

They did a show in New Orleans in 1977, so if you mean election coverage in 1976, no, but if you mean the 1980 election, yes.
