SiriusXM will produce (but not exclusively distribute) Basic!, which "will revisit cable's low-budget, quirky beginnings all the way up to the Emmy Award-winning premium dramas of the modern era", replete with celebrity interviews and coverage of unforgettable moments.
MTV pioneer Doug Herzog and longtime critic Jen Chaney (WaPo, PBS/WETA, New York magazine) host. Launch slated for May 18th.
If John Walson is not mentioned in the first episode, they will be branded phonies.

It was clarified to me that the content here will be about... content, not the early history of community-antenna services like Service Electric... the latter could have taken too long, and not appealed to the students of culture which they appear to be aiming this at...
