On October 8, ABC News announced a one-hour town hall with Joe Biden on Thursday, October 15 (the day of the town hall debate Donald Trump refused to attend) at 8:00 PM ET.

Today NBC News announced a one-hour NBC News town hall with Trump...on Thursday, October 15 at 8:00 PM ET.

Not that I'm normally one to give Kabletown the benefit of the doubt, but...isn't it possible this is just an equal time make-good for the Biden town hall from a few weeks ago?

Then you schedule a time that (a) does not directly conflict with the opponent's town hall and (b) was not the exact time that there was a debate in this exact format that the candidate chickened out of.

In my Twitter feed there are lots of retweets from former NBC News executives talking about how disgusted they are by this decision.

There is no excuse for this. NBC just wants another episode of the Apprentice.

What should have happened was the original Debate Town Hall, with it without any participant that declined to attend. NBC could have scheduled their Trump town hall for the next day. I suspect gave them an ultimatum and they sucked it up.

I always watch everything related to presidential elections; I won’t watch this obscenity.

In my mind it was two different threads. The “Dueling Town Halls” was the framing of the AP and it was to be neutral. “Fuck NBC” was a specific reaction to a deliberate decision by NBC News to negate holding Trump accountable for blowing up the second debate and then giving him the equivalent of a rally to replace the debate in a spot where he can deflect attention from Biden.

Early returns show Biden besting Trump in ratings 13.9M va 13.1M. 

Only one person in America really cares about this, but he will really be pissed, making half of us smile.

And Savannah Guthrie was rougher than probably Trump expected (hey, she interviews celebrities on the "Today" show) and will come out of this with a lot of respect (except, of course, for Fox News, OAN and Newsmax).

Somebody put up somewhere that Joy Reid's "Tonight on MSNBC" graphic during her show only showed Maddow, O'Donnell and BriWi--probably just a coincidence.
