Weatherpeople in the 21 markets where his company broadcasts learned like most folks do, through other media, that some of them are being transferred to Atlanta to work at the first national weather network, but not much else, altho AMG has been laying off staff in general across its various divisions since last May (Deadline article link)...

As the LA fires once again proved, the local weather people are functionally useless during any breaking climate related news. They are not experts, they cannot speak authoritatively about the communities they serve. They are not helpers. Fire them all.
