The streamer said 17.3 million folks logged on to view the Chargers/Chiefs clash in Brasil... altho only just over 1 mil were outside the US... Dan Patrick on his radio/Peacock show today noted that he couldn't find the primary stream, where his ex-SportsCenter mate Rich Eisen did play-by-play... instead found a secondary, Manningcast-like feed presided over by influencer MrBeast:

Obviously a free stream is going to outdraw a paywalled one. It’s more notable that YouTube could manage the stream without glitches. This might have been, as much as anything, a test of YouTube’s livestream technology and it passed. I had no problem finding the game as I subscribe to the NFL channel but I can see how others might have difficulty. I texted a friend to see if he was watching and he said he couldn’t get the stream to load.

I have no issues with Rich Eisen as a host. He shouldn’t be doing NFl play-by-play though. If YouTube wants to market its game to a younger audience with Mr Beast and a bunch of YT talent they can find a young announcer who’s a standout calling college games and bring them aboard. Kurt Warner does a lot of Westwood One games and he was solid as an analyst.

While Warner is certainly more current/practiced than Eisen, he's all of 2 years younger.  Greg Olsen, 40, who was allegedly demoted in favor of Tom Brady for the last Super Bowl FOX broadcast, might be a better target.

It should be noted that when I went into the YouTube app on my Fire TV, they didn't put the actual game broadcast on the front of the site in the app, instead showing live streams of the games from IShowSpeed (one of stellar human being Logan Paul's buddies) and some non-English streamers. I had to go search YouTube NFL to find it on the NFL YouTube channel. I will say, having listened to him do a few International games on NFLN last year, I had to mute the commentary because Eisen is just horrific to listen to as a PBP guy; it just feels like you couldn't get the F-List CBS/FOX team to make the trip for this game? Really?

I will follow what Tom said, in that the YouTube stream held up for most of the game for me, which is impressive considering I have to refresh or force close the Prime Video app for TNF at least three times a game when I have buffering issues.
