The baseball + entertainment team goes from a handful of games last year to almost 20 this year, on TruTV and HBO Max, tho they will still stream on YouTube among other places... the yellow-clad men will visit Yankee Stadium for the first time this year:

They've had a hell of a year this year, airing games on ESPN (the mothership, not the Ocho!), YouTube, Max, and the CW.  Should be interesting when the game expands to 6 teams and true league play next year.

I caught about an inning and a half on the Roku Channel. When I was on the Roku home screen there was a box to click to watch a live game.

I am a monster baseball fan (primarily the Cubs, obviously, but also the Tigers to a lesser extent), and I have watched this "thing" just expand this year without logic, rhyme or reason. It's just AA baseball with gimmicks during play that figured out how to master social media. 

I have really tried in my life not, at 51, to just crap on something new for the sake of it being new, but the only enjoyment I've gotten from the few highlights I've seen was the player who flopped a backflip on CNN (which then turned into a thing in and of itself). I've even read Lauren Thiessen's explanation over on Defector (https://share.google/UkK07z5py7BLYLzs1). But I cannot for the life of me get how this has exploded to the level that it has. If anyone has an explanation, I'll be a most attentive audience.

I've tried to find the 60 minutes segment  from this year with the creator, but it didn't seem to be on YouTube.

Lots of other videos on YouTube that explain what they've done.  In short... Fans first.... And change the rules to keep the fans engaged or watching.

I liken the Bananas to the Harlem Globetrotters, in broad strokes, where the game isn't usually front an center.

I know there were baseball 'barnstorming' teams back in the day, but outside of the travel, I have no sense of how they might compare.

Except that unlike the Globetrotters, there's a real game being played on the field, with an outcome that isn't predetermined. There isn't a correlation between the Party Animals (or Tailgaters, or Firefighters) and the Washington Generals - they've got just as much opportunity to win as the Bananas do.
