The costumed purple dinosaur who at his height on PBS in the 90s was considered, probably depending on your politics, either a positive influence on children or a fascist dictator of his on-camera little buddies (which included a young Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez), or in a calmer sense, not worthy of the network of "Sesame Street" and "Mister Rogers," will be brought back by his current owner, the Mattel toy company, in a new animated series from the Canadians at Nelvana--along with the expected multimedia and licensed merchandise storm:
No US home for the new Barney show as of yet--I would hope that PBS would stay away this time, but if they're getting a cut of the merchandise, that's less of the annual financial support of Viewers Like You. Thank you.
