Unless you consider Byron Allen’s snooze-fest something.

Does Nexstar ... 'er, I mean the CBS affiliates... need to show this, given it's a time-lease to CBS network?  Or would they be free to break from the network and show their own time-lease programming?

This is basically moving up the 12:30, 1 am, and 1:30 shows Allen has on CBS up one hour.  I would guess that the same terms for clearance would apply, or be expanded.  So I think if you're affiliate is carrying the programs now, they will probably bump them up at the appointed time (September?)

They're suggesting this will happen on May 22.

Another LateNighter article says that the deal with Allen is only for a year and that CBS is looking at other options, but not another celeb guests/musical guests/topical monologue/band talk show (supposedly their options are doing a Snyder/Costas-style interview show, bringing a podcast or YouTube show to OTA, reruns of prime time shows or giving the time back to the affiliates):

Well, back at LateNighter, Matt Solomon and Jed Rosenzweig have chimed in on this, now their leader Mr Carter looks at it from the affiliates' apparent POV:
