A daredevil attempted to launch himself in a homemade rocket as part of a TV series. It ended about as badly as possible, with the safety parachute being the first thing to fall off the rocket.

I suppose it is macabre to make light of it, but it is actually kind of difficult to journey into space. Lesson learned, the hard way.

There is video embedded in the article, from a distance, but you can still see what’s what.

Sad. I saw some older interviews and figured this guy would die doing what he believed.

Behind a paywall, but I guess he was a flat earther who wanted to do this to prove the earth was flat?

Those two words were emblazoned across a rocket that propelled him on a previous jaunt, per that WaPo piece (I still have a few weeks of free access for pointing out changes on Google Maps)
