Michael O'Keefe, now 65, did an op-ed piece for Golf.com as to why he's volunteering to carry a bag at the upcoming US Open (he grew up minutes from this year's host course, Winged Foot)

Don't nobody worry'bout him...

“The world needs ditch-diggers, too”

He had a good guest role in season three of West Wing as a snobby journalist who felt the briefing room was beneath him.

Caddyshack was a movie I remember seeing in a theater and disliking. As it rose to its mythic status I borrowed the DVD when I had a Netflix subscription. I continue to dislike the movie and in the DVD extras were some interviews from some cast members. O'Keefe said the movie was supposed to be a straight forward coming of age comedy about the townie caddies trying to get by working in the country club with its rich members. But then Ramis brought in Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield and changed the focus to their over-the-top antics. O'Keefe sounded pretty about the way the movie turned out.

I think the movie is still mostly about the caddies and the lesser known characters, but the named actors simply upstaged the younger unknown cast. I mean, if Ted Knight is in a scene with you, he’s going to steal the scene from you.

Part of me thinks there should have been another adjective following "pretty."

Tom Wolper, to Kevin M, in part, Sept 4th:

Resentful was the missing word.
