Asked by THR "was this your idea or theirs?", he said "A combination of both, actually", crediting returned showrunner Conrad Green (on board for the opening season, then not again till 30+ seasons later) whom "kind of put everything back together again, Humpty Dumpty-style"... he is still very much against casting political figures, which is what got him canned:
