Paramount was not going to do any upfront presentation at Carnegie Hall today as CBS had done in past years, mostly to boost Les Moonves' ego.  But CBS has announced a best-case-scenario fall lineup, with only two new shows and a programming move on Wednesday nights that they'll probably be able to do whether or not scripted Hollywood is still on strike.  Otherwise, this fall could be a lot of reruns and nighttime episodes of "The Price is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal," but here's what they're throwing out:

MONDAYS:
8:00--The Neighborhood
8:30--Bob Hearts Abishola (only a 13-ep order and the supporting cast demoted to recurring)
9:00--NCIS
10:00--NCIS:  Hawai'i

DICK WOLF TUESDAYS:
8:00--FBI
9:00--FBI:  International
10:00--FBI:  Most Wanted

REALITY COMP OGS WEDNESDAYS:
8:00--Survivor (now 90 min.)
9:30--The Amazing Race (now 90 min.)
The producers say that they've always had the extra footage to expand--and now they will.

THURSDAYS:
8:00--Young Sheldon
8:30--Ghosts
9:00--So Help Me Todd
10:00--ELSBETH--Carrie Preston's attorney character from "The Good Wife/Good Fight" moves to New York from Chicago to offer her unique observations to the NYPD.  The Kings wrote the pilot and will be involved, although no idea if they're showrunners.

FRIDAYS:
8:00--S.W.A.T. (heard you missed us, well we're back for 13 episodes)
9:00--Fire Country
10:00--Blue Bloods (with almost everyone taking salary cuts)

SATURDAYS:
8:00--Reruns
10:00--48 Hours

SUNDAYS:
7:00--60 Minutes
8:00--MATLOCK--Just replace Andy Griffith with Kathy Bates and you get the idea.
9:00--The Equalizer
10:00--CSI:  Vegas

In addition, there are two mid-season shows:

TRACKER (post-Super Bowl premiere, probably Fridays at 7)--Justin Hartley plays a survivalist with a dysfunctional family who makes his money solving mysteries.  From Disney's 20th without CBS Studios, Paramount TV Studios or MTV Entertainment listed as a co-producer.

POPPA'S HOUSE (probably Mondays at 7:30)--Two generations of Damon Wayans, with Damon pere as a radio talk show host and Damon fils as his somewhat grounded son, who wants to achieve his dreams and responsibly raise his family.  Yeah, it's a multi-cam sitcom (although it is unusual that the Thursday night sitcom block is all one-camera shows).

We'll cover the other networks if and when they show up. Meanwhile, take it Brad.

I watched the promo reel for the new Matlock.

A part of me died inside.

The original Matlock lacked any pretense. He was a genuine “good ol’ boy” who practiced the law. It wasn’t that he had a gifted mind; he got what he needed by asking questions and being honest and nice. Kathy Bates’ Matlock’s singular character trait seems to be that she’s old, and the promo package centered around that almost entirely. As the series is destined to be watched by old people, I don’t know that a bunch of wisecracks about old people is going to be endearing to viewers.

From the CBS pee-arr: "Robert King, Michelle King, Liz Glotzer and Jonathan Tolins are executive producers. Tolins will serve as showrunner. Robert King directed the pilot from a script he wrote with Michelle King."
