1. The final torchbearers are Uyghurs, a bold statement by the Communist government given their mates' oppression.

2. The flame is not a giant cauldron fueled by something that someone thinks should be wound down in use due to global warming, but merely by that final torch carried by said Uyghurs, installed into a giant snowflake hoisted over the center of the Bird's Nest.

It seems it was the female athlete, Dinigeer Yilamujiang, who was born into a Uyghur family.
