The better to make room for the Chip and Joanna Gaines Magnolia Network hub, for the most part either unscripted or children's shows, including an Aquaman animated series, the "Tattletales" reboot "About Last Night," both of Ellen DeGeneres' series (the designer reality comp and the cartoon "Little Ellen"), Cartoon Network's hit "Uncle Grandpa," the Brit pre-school cartoon "Esme and Roy," unspecified "Sesame Street" specials and "The Not Too Late Show with Elmo"--complete list in link:

No indication if they'll show up anywhere else--oh, Oliver's going to be talking to Daddy Zaslav this week.

Correction - Esme & Roy isn’t a UK import, but rather a Sesame Workshop production.

Thank you.  I think I got them mixed up with another show.

And it should be said that once again Twitter is up in arms over all of this, just like they were last week over "Batgirl."  In particular, the animation community, which is already pissed over the cuts made at Netflix and working conditions in general for TV animation, seems to be in an uproar over this action, Rodney Dangerfield-ing all over the place and complaining that because they don't put out DVDs anymore they have no way of keeping physical copies of the shows for their audition videos. They're especially in arms because of Warners' history in animation.

I note that "Infinity Train" creator Owen Dennis has changed his Twitter bio to read "Creator of #InfinityTrain, a show that got pulled from @HBOMax and can now only be pirated."

What makes no sense to me (as a lay-person) is the logic behind pulling "MAX Originals", shows like "Not Too Late Show w/ Elmo" which were produced for the streamer, have been available for some time, and aren't in current production (so, effectively, costing nothing for WBD to keep online). What's the benefit of pulling those down?

If someone plays an episode, they have to pay residuals to the performers--and since it's not a reality show, that means the Muppeteers, the guests and the musicians.  Reality shows can get away with no residuals outside of the host or other regulars.

At least one business reporter I've read thinks licencing the removed properties to other providers is an option.     B

My understanding is that the residuals are negligible (especially for animated shows), so it's more likely that this is a tax write-off situation, just as with the "Batgirl" movie. By pulling the shows, it reduces the amount of income to HBO Max that would have been attributed to each show.
