The opening episode of Paul's "Living With Yourself" reveals how he ends up with a double role in the series.

It also features a cameo by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady outside a crucial location figuring in the plot.

The place, in a strip mall, someone noticed, looks too much like the one where Brady's team's owner Robert Kraft was caught in a prostitution sting last winter in Florida before their last Super Bowl.

The show's creator told USA Today (among others) that the episode was written over four years ago (https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2019/10/19/paul-rudd-netflix-show-enlists-tom-brady-cameo/4003359002/ (link)), but of course it only takes one critic to make that meaningless... Brady further explained that the scene was shot using a green screen (https://news.yahoo.com/patriots-brady-upset-show-cameo-055633465.html (link))

After reading both of the linked articles, I'm at a loss to figure out where your impression is coming from that Rudd is "embarrassed" by Tom Brady's cameo.  If anything, he sounds very satisfied and happy that they were able to get Brady to participate, in all of the interviews I've seen him give on the subject.

You could've said that Brady himself isn't happy that others are mistakenly assuming that the scene is a dig at Patriots owner Robert Kraft, but even if you had, I'd probably question whether "embarrassed" would be the correct way to characterize it.

Doug Fields, to moi, today:

I seem to think Rudd's keeping a low profile, given the show has just been released, which can explain the embarrassment. The interviews were done at least last winter around when the scene was filmed, if not before any filming began. Brady, OTOH, if you believe enough of the passive-commenting-about-celebs sites, is bugged, but as I said, there are critics who don't give a (bleep).

Yes…you *do* seem to think that Rudd’s keeping a low profile.  And, as with your insistence that he’s somehow embarrassed, I can’t figure out why you think that.  He was on Jimmy Kimmel this past Thursday, promoting this very TV show.  He didn’t mention this particular kerfuffle during the interview, but he’s hardly keeping a low profile.

But, okay.  Whatever.  I’m not actually curious about it enough to follow up past this.  Thanks.  😊
