The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, following its defunding, will cut loose most of its staff when the fiscal year ends Sept 30th, with a small contingent remaining until Jan 31st... now the question becomes, what will states and the private sector do? (Pennsylvania, where I am, is rasslin' with a delayed state budget)

But just before that first wave of staff cuts, the TV Academy will award CPB a Governors Award for five decades of achievement:
