The Newhouse NJ papers (link): The insurer for Amy Locane Bovenizer, per her husband, offered at least $1mil to the family of Helene Seeman, a passenger in a car that collided with Bovenizer's in 2010 north of Princeton; they refused, probably in part due to the county prosecutor (= district attorney) seeking to send the actress back to prison (she only did 2.5yrs)...

Friday a NJ appellate panel ordered a rehearing of the case, itself wondering about the leniency shown Bovenizer... she could've gotten up to 15 years... Newhouse NJ (link)

Judge lets her off for good behaviour... state and Seeman's husband plan to appeal, and still seek civil damages as well.  Newhouse NJ (link)

Locane (she and Mark Bovenizer divorced in 2018; they share two kids) went right back to the slam in 2020 after earlier sentences were in two cases seen as too lenient while a third was not administered according to agreed-upon rules... an appeal to cut short the eight years total was swatted down, with the Federal judge noting, f'rinstance, that it was not a double-jeopardy sitch...
